WP2 Go-Lab federation of online labs

Project months: 1 – 36; Lead beneficiary: EA

The aim of this Work package is to create a structured inventory of online labs. It starts with online labs that are available within the project (covering a large range of labs including unique research infrastructures like the CERN facilities (LHC, ATLAS, CMS), the “Las Cumbres Observatory Global Telescope Network” in Hawaii and Australia, the ESA MeteoSAT), as well as outreach infrastructures of universities, of science and technology bodies. It will extend later to online labs from lab-owners outside the Go-Lab consortium. In this work package the project team defines a systematic methodology to describe online labs and organize them into an inventory for their further implementation through the Go-Lab Portal.

Tasks:

Task 2.1 Review of existing online labs (Task leaders: CERN, IASA)

Task 2.2 Organizing online labs for the Go-Lab federation: from small to big ideas of science (Task leader: EA)

Task 2.3 The Go-Lab inventory of online labs (Task leaders: CERTH, EA)

Task 2.4 Populating the Go-Lab inventory (Task leaders: EPFL, EA)

Deliverables:

D2.1 The Go-Lab inventory and integration of online labs – labs offered by large scientific organizations (Editor: EA; Month: 12)

D2.2 The Go-Lab inventory and integration of online labs – labs offered by universities (Editor: EA; Month: 24)

D2.3 The Go-Lab inventory and integration of online labs – labs offered by external partners and federations (Editor: EA; Month: 36)
