The main objective of the Go-Lab Backend Infrastructure is to enable large scientific organizations and universities to provide exciting and motivating labs for inquiry learning activities in schools and to promote sciences to the general public. In order to reach this goal, four levels of support are provided. Firstly, lab-owner services enable to easily plug (provide) labs online. Secondly, the cloud services federate repositories to share labs and leverage on the communities to provide, access and exploit all the necessary associated resources. Thirdly, learning analytics and scaffolding services provide recommendation features on which the Go-Lab Portal (WP5) bases. Fourthly, add-on services enable booking of lab usage time and bartering of competences in tandems if necessary. The work package focuses on providing advanced solutions to enable adoption (beyond the traditional early adopter base) and spreading of the Go-Lab paradigm and inquiry learning for science education in schools.
