WP5 Go-Lab Portal
Project months: 1 – 48; Lead beneficiary: EPFL
The main objective of the Go-Lab Frontend Portal is to provide a simple and attractive platform for teachers and learners to support their inquiry learning activities in science education. Particularly, WP5 provides an open worldwide access to remote labs, resources and communities for both teachers’ preparatory activities and learners’ inquiry sessions in the classroom. All the necessary end-user services and features integrated in the Go-Lab Portal are designed and implemented in this work package to enable personalization according to preferences, competence levels, subject domains, interaction device, and context.
The Go-Lab Portal builds upon the WP4 backend infrastructure. The core aspect when targeting the learners is to provide a unique user experience in terms of interaction, as well as user interfaces and services for carrying out remote, virtual or augmented experimentation. The core aspect when targeting the teachers is to connect them to peers, communities and scientists in order to encourage them to offer inquiry learning activities and to support them in such scenarios. In order to provide a consistent experience for both learners and teachers, an app composer is designed and deployed in WP5 to make sure that users are exposed to the same intuitive and motivating interfaces for all the various possible activities offered in the Go-Lab Portal.
