- Pilot activities

A few weeks ago, our partners of IASA (Institute of Accelerating Systems and Applications) from Greece organized some Go-Lab implementation activities together with 15 teachers and 30 high school students from different schools around Zante, Ioanian Island, Greece.
The day started with an introduction to CERN (European Organisation for Nuclear Research), to the ATLAS experiment and the new Boson, followed by a presentation of the Go-Lab Project and the Go-Lab Portal by Prof Christine Kourkoumelis. After the theoretical part, Stelios Vourakis from IASA hold a hands-on session, where the participating students used the HYPATIA tool to search for the Z boson and Higgs boson. At the end, there was a special afternoon session for the teachers, where all the Greek Inquiry Learning Spaces were demonstrated to them and they were invited to use them in their schools.
The learning goals of the implementation activities comprised the acquaintance with the Go-Lab project and the familiarization with the ILSs and online labs of Go-Lab, in particular with the Greek high school ILSs and the HYPATIA event analysis tool.
