Basque Government supports Go-Lab implementation

  • Pilot activities

Go-Lab project was chosen by the Department of Education, Culture and Language of the Government of Basque Country as one of the first projects supporting the program for innovative science teaching in schools “Zientzia Hezkuntza” (among other programs like the program for educative robotics and other collaborative projects). The Call for teachers’ participation in frame of Innovative Projects in Science Education and Entrepreneurship 2014-2015 course has been published on the official website of the Department of Education September 12th, 2014 (http://goo.gl/ajBKW0, in Spanish).

The participating teachers will be involved in different kinds of activities, including blended trainings provided by the Univeristy of Deusto and the Go-Lab Pilot activities as well as evaluation of the teaching instruments and methodology provided in the project. The program’s aim is to further educate teachers in science to engage students’ enthusiasm in STEM subjects; bringing closer new teaching methods including inquiry based teaching tools and remote laboratories; providing schools with easy-to-use digital laboratory equipment and improving the students’ perception of science to motivate and prepare them for a future career in different fields of science.

All outcomes and results of the collaboration will then be presented at conferences on educational subjects, published in scientific journals and on the official website of the Department of Education of Basque Country.
