Centre for Research and Technology Hellas, CERTH (Greece)
| The Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH) is a National Research Center operating under the supervision of the Greek General Secretariat for Research and Technology. It was founded in March 2000 and its mission is to carry out basic and applied research with emphasis to new products and services with industrial, economic and social impact. The Informatics and Telematics Institute (ITI) was founded in 1998 and since March 2000, has been a founding member of the CERTH. The Advanced Digital Systems and Services for Education and Learning (ASK) at ITI-CERTH has a long history on European and worldwide research and development activities in the area of Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL). The main achievements of ASK during the past twelve years in TEL can be summarized as follows: 40 R&D projects (17 EC funded Projects, 11 National Projects, 12 Industrial Contracts); more than 220 scientific publications; active participation in European and International Centers of Excellence, such as IEEE Computer Society Learning Technologies Technical Committee and the IMS Global Learning Consortium, Inc. ASK has considerable experience in science education digital content repositories design and development (COSMOS, OpenScienceResources, PATHWAY, Open Discovery Space), mobile learning tools design and development (SMILE, MW-TELL), as well as adaptive and personalized learning research (KOD, iCLASS, TenCompetence). In Go-Lab, CERTH/ASK is involved in the development of the Go-Lab federation of online labs (WP2), in the development of the Go-Lab Infrastructure (WP4) and of the Go-Lab Portal (WP5). |
