As a teacher, you have the opportunity to open a new view on science to your students and to motivate them in learning and being productive! This is where Go-Lab wants to support you with the Go-Lab Academy. The Go-Lab Academy comprises the whole offering of the Go-Lab project for teachers, including various support activities, events, trainings as well as contests, which should simplify the cross-country, multicultural and successful use of the Go-Lab tools. Important to emphasise is that this offering is going to be completely available even after the Go-Lab project has ended in October 2016 through the website of the Go-Lab Academy http://go-lab.ea.gr.
Several times a year, the Go-Lab Project organizes national and international teacher trainings in different countries around Europe in cooperation with several project partners. At these training events, representatives of our project introduce the participants to the philosophy and methods of inquiry-learning with Go-Lab and demonstrate with the help of hands-on sessions how to work effectively with our online labs, Inquiry Learning Spaces (ILSs) and inquiry apps in the classroom.
Furthermore, there are diverse competitions for teachers, like for example the Go-Lab Teacher Contest 2016 “Promoting Multidisciplinary Science Teaching”. There, you are invited to use the Go-Lab tools in your class and report about your experience, benefits and challenges when implementing and permanently using the learning tools with your students. The prize for the winners of the Teacher Contest 2016 is a fully covered six-day trip to the Go-Lab Summer School 2016 in Attica, Greece. To facilitate European teachers’ participation in such international events, the Go-Lab Project has cooperation with Erasmus+, a funding programme for education and training of the European Union. Another contest of the Go-Lab Project is the Big Ideas of Science Challenge, where you are asked to develop your own science curriculum.
Highly topical, we offer a free online course “Using Online Labs in the Classroom”, which explains how to easily integrate the online labs, ILSs and inquiry apps into your daily teaching practices. The registration is still open until August 29th, 2016 - so you are welcome to participate! The course will be offered several times a year, so you can join us also in the next course run. In addition, you can consult Go-Lab experts via online sessions on the Go-Lab Tutoring Platform and find the help you need if any problem occurs. Finally, you are welcome to check our support videos and tutorials on the Go-Lab Support Page.
We are glad to welcome you in the Go-Lab Academy!
